ROSECROSS MESSAGES

HEALTHY  FEEDING – II

Foods we advise against consuming – Vinegar should be substituted by lemon because it irritates the digestive tract and destroys the hemoglobin of the blood.

Mustard, pepper and other stimulating seasoning should be abolished.  They annul the natural taste of the foods and damage the digestive tract.

Excess salt is damaging to the organism so use it moderately.

Avoid canned foods, soft drinks and starches in excess (dough, pastries, macaroni, etc).

Do not abuse eggs as they contain a lot of cholesterine which causes arteriosclerosis and cardiac sickness.

Sweets, cakes, candles and all the sweetmeats should be avoided.

Do not overindulge in coffee which contains one alkaloid, caffeine, harmful to the nervous system. When the body is tired it does not need stimulants, it needs rest.

How to eat – The habit of eating excessively is very harmful because the digestive juices are unable to decompose the food mixture, completely. And that part which is left over and that the body cannot absorb becomes putrefied producing toxins which poison the whole organism.  Hippocrates, the father of medicine who live 140 years said:  “I never left the table completely is to that circumstance that I owe my long life”.  The rosecross that searches the illumination knows how much a heavy stomach hurts the freedom of the spirit.

Here is an important rule:  “Do not eat if you are not hungry”.  Do not eat only because “it is mealtime”.   The nourishment that we are recommending is made up of natural foods which do not need to be burned or “prepared” and, therefore, present no problems to the housewife who will not need to light the oven frequently.  In fact the will have free time for other useful work.

The teeth exist to cur, crush and chew the food.  If we swallow them like the birds which do not have teeth but a gizzard to substitute the lack of them, the digestion will not perfect.  The mouth also secrets some digestive juices (saliva) necessary to decompose the starchy food.  Thus, we must eat slowly filling the food with plenty of saliva.

Those whose teeth are not in good condition, or have none, should use artificial teeth or use a liquefier.

The occultists, when they chew, use their will imagining that they are absorbing all the energy contained in the food.

The emotional conditions such as extreme happiness, excessive love, anxiety, fear, envy, annoyance, hate, paralyze the digestive tract.  Mealtime should be a period of harmony and tranquility.  Some people take advantage of this tie when all the members of the family are present and cannot leave, to discuss or remember disagreeable facts and producing great harm to those present.

The digestion is exhausting work for the body and we should not eat immediately after arriving home or when we are physically or mentally tired.  Right after meals anything which demands great effort should be avoided.

The food should taste good in order to stimulate the digestive glands to secrete their juices.  Do not choose the food only because it is nutritious, pay attention that its taste is also agreeable.

The digestion represents a great effort for the body and we should not eat useless food just for pleasure but choose that which is most nutritious and necessary to preserve the human machine - just as you choose the best fuels for your car.  May people overload their digestive tract making it overwork and not a single drug which will make it function as before.

Children and sick people need little food.  The former because of their reduced size need less food than the adults.  The latter because their digestive tract does not absorb efficiently. It is not the amount of food which counts but the quality which is absorbed by the body.

Try to diversify the food as much as possible in order that no indispensable element will be lacking for the body.  This variation should not be in only one meat but over one or two days.

Other factors which harm the digestion:  drink during meals, eat late at night, take a bath right after meals, eat very cold or hot food between meals, excess fried food, etc.

Wash the fruit and vegetables thoroughly because they may have residues or insecticides or fungicides as ell as pathogenic microbes left by the persons which had contact with them.

The alimentation is not fixed – The age, profession and climate factors determine different types of foods.

The human being goes through three phases in his life and his feeding should vary accordingly.

During growth (childhood and adolescence) the body is growing and needs food rich in vitamins, mineral and much more proteins than the adults to satisfy its rapid metabolism.

The adult age starts at 22 for the woman and at 25 for the man.  When growth stops the proteins can be reduced maintaining feeding with a lot of fruit and vegetables.

During old age which varies in accordance with the sicknesses, the work and suffering which the individual went through but that can be considered as starting at 55 for men and 50 for women, the activity is less and the body does not absorb the food well and a vegetarian system of feeding is indicated with little protein and a minimum of fats which render digestion difficult and can provoke cardiac disturbances.

The energetic foods – proteins and fats, are recommended more for works who toil hard or perform which makes them move around a lot.  For the professionals that lead a sedentary life, the intellectuals, the mystics, the best diet is that in which the hydrocarbons predominate (fruit, vegetables, grains).

Family problems – The change to a healthy feeding sometimes provokes opposition on the part of student’s family who must employ a great amount of tact to avoid any discord in the nourishment habits or even any other practice advised by us.   Still, we have noticed that if the student asks anyone to buy his natural food he will not always be heeded, but if he gives an extra amount of money which would revert to the family if it were “eccentric” food with pleasure – after all they will be economizing and is not money a great power on this earth?  And they will even start to eat of his food: with the time they may even become naturists through habit and because of the economizing as they wll not have to open their purses.  This system which is good for the husband and the male children who have to support the home.  Our housewife students would do better by slowly employing a naturist system without letting anyone know, as consuming constantly more natural foods and avoiding rivalries in the home where Peace and Happiness should always reside.
