FENG SHUI - 1

- Feng Shui teaches to create more health and harmonious environments  to live and to work.

Feng = wind,    shui = water.

Your source starts in China 5.000 years ago.

- Wind and water are two important things for the life: no alive being gets to live without the wind (air) or the water for a long time

- While certain houses and places provide us a well being sensation,  in other atmospheres we felt indisposition and negative emotions.

These feelings are provoked by the energies good or bad of the place.

The feng shui search to harmonize, to vitalize and to cure these places.

The vital energy, or the prana is known by Chinese as chi, ki or ch'i.

- In the Universe an energy, Tao, exists known by the Supreme Perfection" or the "Path of the Perfection", that created the Cosmos of the Chaos; it is the harmony that maintains the Order in the Universe; it is the law and the way to the and of the world.

The Tao manifest itself in two opposite and complementary forces,  yang and ying.

These two opposite forces maintain the Universe in constant movement.

- Yang corresponds to the masculine, to the sky, to the light, a day, to the heat, in the sun, to the spring, to the activity.

- Ying corresponds to the feminine, to the Earth, to the night, to the darkness, to the cold, to the winter, to the passivity.

In feng shui these two cosmic forces correspond to the wind and the water.

In human beings we have the breathing (the wind, originated in the sky, in the space) and the blood (the water, originated in the Earth).

The feng shui search equilibrates these two forces of the Nature in the man, in the home and in the external environment.

- According to the feng shui the people are influenced by the environment, for the well or for the evil; changing the environment the people's destiny can also be changed.

- The feng shui is studied by two main schools: the School of the Forms studies the location and the topography of the terrain; the School of the Compass studies the relation of the place with the cardinal points and with the Chinese astrology and the I Ching.

In practice it combines the result of the two schools.

- The feng shui also uses other sciences as the radiestesiy and even  the laws of the architecture and of the modern decoration.

- The acupuncture teaches that the vital energy circulates in channels (meridians) in the human body.

In the Earth the energy also runs through channels that Chinese call veins or claws of the dragon.

- If the vital energy of the Earth is very strong, it will form high mountains, finishing in a peak; when the energy is weaker, it forms mountains low, rounded.

Because of this many people seek the mountains because they release  more energy and vitality than the valleys.

In the valleys there is less energy, the rivers run slowly and can appear the swamps, where the energy is stagnated, without life.

- Says the feng shui that the best location to a house is in a valley in horseshoe form, with the Dragon (high mountains) protecting its left, and the Tiger (smaller mountains) to its right.

The Celestial North (habitation of the gods) should be behind the house.

And still will better whether exist a beach or river in front, combining the fire of the mountains with the water (sea, river, lake), and increasing the circulation of energy in that region.

A lake in front of the house substitutes a river.

- In the cities the high buildings are similar to the mountains, however they produce many shadows, more than the mountains, and doesn't have the vitality of those.

- Chi is the vital energy, the vitality, the prana, the life. The diseased  have little or bad chi.

The chi circulates inside of our body, of our house, in the planet Earth and in the whole Universe.

- The regions with much chi are full of life: good for the agriculture, they have a lot of forests, woodlands, verdant field, abundant animals; the chi lack produces the deserts, bad lands for the plantation.

The Chinese and the feng shui have much superstition, for instance, they don't put the bed of the bedroom with the feet turned for the  door because the deads always come out loaded with the feet first.

If the feet point for the wall beside the door does not have problem.

They avoid the number 4 just because its sound is similar to the word death.

The sound of the number 2 is similar to the word again.

A commercial house with the number 424 (death again death) would go to the failure because no Chinese would go to want to enter in the store.

But for the Western it is until a beautiful number.

- Other superstitions exist in the feng shui, but due to the thoughts that produce in the mind of the people should be taken into consideration.

- The most favorable form for a terrain or house is the rectangular or even square; the houses in “L", “H" or triangular are unfavorable to the circulation of the chi.

- The people were more social and happy when they had a garden in front of the house.

There they stopped to talk with their neighbors; it was the point of encounter of the neighborhood and there frequently met the residents arranging or looking  their plants.

Each one perfected the possible best, because it was the garden that beautified the house.

Nowadays the garden was substituted by a dark and cold garage. The residents never find reason for to be long there.

In the geminate houses the Sun does not enter in its front, be at the garage or in the room in the entrance.

- Facades of houses with decadence signs should be corrected by paintings or reforms.

Sometimes a simple painting already cause a good impression, it can be even only in the low part, in the case of two-story house, where the humidity corrode more the house.

Besides, almost nobody looks above 2 m of height.

- If the front door is in straight line with the door of the bottom, the energy chi will enter and will leave for the door of the bottom.

Put a bell of the winds to reduce the speed of the chi.

- A bell of the winds (those tubes that keep beating one in the another with the wind, producing a characteristic sound), in front of your house  will give more life to your entrance.

The people will have more conscience of your existence.

If the neighbor's door is close of yours, check if the sound of the bell of the winds not displease him.

- A mirror in front of the entrance door reflects the chi of turn outside of the house; replace him for a picture or leave the wall empty.

- When there is window in front of the entrance door, the energy chi enters and leaves; the cure is to put blinds or curtains.

- In the room of visits (living room) the sofa and the armchairs should be in front of the entrance door. Avoid to sit down of coast for the entrance.

Thus always we are guard of people that enter and we avoid the  unconscious fear of surprises or unexpected dangers.

- A mirror that reflects the bed of the bedroom, besides giving the impression of being always abed, the reflected images indicate movement of energy that affects the night rest.

- In the superior floor the toilet has usually has been put in inadequate places: on top of the stove, of the dining table, of the bed of the bedroom, or still behind the wall of the headboard of the bed.

The door of the bathroom should always be closed.

- The pipe of the sewer is another problem, it goes by the wall of the kitchen, of the room, below of the whole house.

- The garage substituted the beautiful gardens of the past, the back yards were cemented, and the walls substituted the fences of wire or wood covered by the flowery creepers.

- A garden in the backyard will give more life to your house and happiness for you.

Whether the backyard is small plants creepers or vertical bushes, to their feet plants flowers or a mini-vegetable garden.

- A house is yin because it is passive, immobile; the human beings are yang because they are active, movable.

- A street with bad chi: abandoned houses or in ruins, slums, bad smell (sewer discovered, some factories), sidewalk in bad state, intense traffic, lamppost with transformers, towers of high tension, etc.

A street with good chi: houses well cared, artistic, gardens and very green, neighbors pleasant, silent, etc.

Avoid thick curtains so that the sunshine to illuminate your house turning it healthier and cheerful.

- Open the windows so that the pure air of the morning substitutes the used and stagnated of the dawn.

- Use pictures of happy and positive landscapes: the Nature, a lion, a sunny beach, mountains, gardens, etc.

Avoid melancholic pictures: a castle in the fog, a swamp, wars, etc.

- Get rid of everything that did not use in the last years, or what is with defect or broken: if it is useful donates to the closer asylum to your house.

- A street finishing in your front can be more attractive, but the energy chi is projected as an arrow, with much violence in the direction of your  house.

If it are a street with little traffic the stream will be smaller.

The solution is to put a mirror to reflect the negative chi.

- The proximity of places where exists much suffering or other bad influences is not good: slaughterhouse, police station, slum, asylum of old, butcher shop, bars, cemetery, barracks, penitentiary, factories.

- The power in the ways or be the impression that the forms cause in the people should be applied in the architecture and in the landscape around.

The power of the forms: the beautiful forms found in the Nature, in the flora and in the fauna, the pyramids, spheres, the feminine forms (curves) in the men's mind, the cone hat of the witches, etc.

- The corners, as the beams of the roof, of the furniture, of the square columns, of the corners with angles with less than 90 degree, turn the chi cutting in the directions where the corners point: beds in the bedroom, sofas in the television room, etc.

- The corner of a building driven forward of your house should be attenuated with bushes or trees that also protect of the sonorous pollution of the traffic.

- The edges, corners or sharp angles of the furniture emit the cutting energy chi; prefer furniture of rounded edges.

- Put works of art in your house: statuettes, ornaments original  pictures, etc.

A picture of a shady and lonely castle in a swamp wakes up feelings of solitude and sadness.

To opposite, a beautiful sunny landscape of the Nature, a park full of people turns more happiest house and its owner more optimistic.

- Everything depends on your choice... or of your money: to live in a calm street, full of beautiful houses with gardens, mountains and nearby  woodlands.

Or to inhabit a house where when whether eye in the window or opens itself a door sees itself a wall of factory or building, a wall of the rail line, a street of infernal transit.

Sometimes an environment change will do well for your health and prosperity.

- It is good to have water near to the house, as for instance, a little  pond; avoid stagnated water, put plants and fishes, give more life to the water.

- A river or built channel (the least artificial possible) it is also beneficial.

In the metropolis, deserts of cement, the rivers become more and more dangerous because of the inundations; there is not more land to absorb the waters, and they run in great amounts for the rivers.
